The Chinese naval fleet in the Gulf of Aden has escorted 19 business ships out off Somali waters, a record for the fleet in a single mission.
The ships are from 11 countries and regions, including China, Greece, Panama and the Marshall Islands.
Friday's mission was the 117th in the area for China. Escort fleets from other countries, including the US, Russia, Britain, Spain and South Korea, have sent congratulatory messages and greetings for China's National Day.
