發(fā)音要決：這個雙元音在發(fā)音過程中口形變動較大，由舌位最低的[а]滑動到舌位較高的[?],第一個音素清晰響亮，第二個音素則模糊短促。另外,音素[a]在美音中并不單獨出現(xiàn)，發(fā)音與我們前面講過的后元音[ɑ]十分相似。

特別提示：這個雙元音不能發(fā)成漢語中的“愛”，因為漢語中的復韻母ai滑動并不明顯，中國學生容易不加區(qū)分，結果單詞“I”成“愛”，單詞“try”變成了用腳“踹”。但是我們發(fā)音的時候又不能矯枉過正，把這個雙元音發(fā)成漢語中的“阿姨”，這樣前后兩個音素的發(fā)音就明顯割裂開來，反而失去了美語圓潤飽滿的韻味。
