Parent company(母公司) is a company that owns more than half the shares of another company; It is a company that controls a smaller company or organization.
A subsidiary(子公司) operates as an independent company even though it is mainly or wholly owned by the parent company.
A warehouse(倉(cāng)庫(kù)) is a building where goods or raw materials are stored and from which they are distributed.
A plant(工廠) is a place of production (either manufacturing, assembly or packing).
The headquarters(總部) are the main offices of the company where the top management and general administration work.
注意Headquarters這個(gè)詞是單復(fù)數(shù)同形式,因此后面可以加is也可以加are。
Eg.The company's headquarters is based in London. 這家公司的總部設(shè)在倫敦。(《21世紀(jì)大英漢詞典》)
