作為服務(wù)世博的重要交通項目，上海軌道交通10、12、13號線即將投入試運營。來看Shanghaidaily的相關(guān)報道：

Shanghai's Metro Line 10 will be automatically operated with no drivers aboard within a year after it opens for trial service in mid-April. This signals China can develop its own technology for automatic subways.
上海地鐵10號線將在四月中旬投入試運營，一年后將實現(xiàn)無人駕駛。這預(yù)示這中國開始有能力自主研發(fā)地鐵無人駕駛技術(shù)。

上文中open for trial service就是開始試運營的意思；trial這個詞，做名詞時可以表示“嘗試、試驗”，也可以表示“審訊”，例如：

The trials show that smoking will do harm to people.
試驗顯示抽煙對人體有害。

He was brought to trial on charges of arson.
他以縱火罪被送法院審理。

另外，還能表示“讓人頭疼的人或事，麻煩，考驗”:

His blindness is a great trial to him.
眼睛瞎對他來說是非常麻煩的事。

而做形容詞時，trial就可以表示“試驗的”的意思啦：

The new aircraft has performed very well in its initial trial flights.
這種新式飛機在最初幾次試飛中表現(xiàn)性能良好。

而且，剛進(jìn)職場的新人，必須經(jīng)歷的“試用期”也是用trial來表示，就是trial period。
