A prominent fund raiser on Chicago’s political scene is facing some serious prison time. Tony Rezko, who has donated money to Senator Obama and Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, has been convicted fraud, money laundry, and bribery. He will be sentenced in September.
Severe weather rolls through the Mid-Atlantic region, downing power lines, uprooting trees, and causing at least one death. Authorities say a women was killed in Northen Virginia, when a tree fell on top of her car.
Detroit takes hockey’s top honor. The Red Wings beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals. It’s the fourth time in 11 seasons Detroit has won the championship.
