A documentary about China’s pollution problem has become a viral hit in the country over the weekend racking up over 100 million views in less than 24 hours.
上周末，一部有關(guān)污染問題的紀錄片席卷了整個中國，在不到24小時的時間里其觀看次數(shù)超過了1億。

Showing a series of photographs and slides, Chai examines how the pollution problem has become so serious in the country and reveals the project was inspired by lung illness of her new-born daughter.
柴靜在演講中通過一系列圖片和幻燈片的展示，一步步分析污染問題是如何演變到如此嚴重的地步。另外柴靜還表示了制作該紀錄片的動力最初來源于她剛出生就被確診患有肺病的女兒。

The TED Talk-style presentation was self-funded by the former TV anchor and was released by video site Youku and the People’s Daily Online.
該紀錄片由柴靜自費制作，并親自做TED式的演講，由優(yōu)酷網(wǎng)和人民日報在線網(wǎng)站發(fā)布。

The newly-appointed head of China’s environment ministry, Chen Jining, has praised Chai Jing and her documentary saying it has “aroused the public's environmental awareness from the public health point of view, and is worthy of admiration."
中國新任環(huán)保部長陳吉寧也對柴靜及紀錄片給予了肯定與贊揚，并稱這部片子“從公眾健康的角度喚起了大家對環(huán)境問題的重視，值得敬佩。”

The minister is reported to have contacted Chai Jing to personally thank her.
據(jù)報道稱，陳吉寧部長還親自聯(lián)系了柴靜從個人角度向她表達了感謝。

It comes just days before the 2015 National People’s Congress convenes in Beijing and is expected to provoke debate on environmental policy.
《穹頂之下》在中國2015年全國人大會議開幕前幾天發(fā)布，注定會在環(huán)保政策等方面引起熱議。
