A month later, Lautner commands the red carpet in a tailored navy Dolce & Gabanna suit, skinny silver tie and sexily coifed hair at a New York screening of New Moon. Of his look, the actor told InStyle, "I like to be cool and comfortable but have a little edge."

At 16, Lautner was told he was too young and too thin to fill the role of a much-larger Jacob in the Twilight sequel. But he stayed focused, packed on more than 30 lbs. of muscle and kept his starring shot in New Moon. "Now I'm a big bad wolf!" he said.

"What can I hop over? What can I hop off of? How can I show Jacob's agility after his transformation into a wolf?"

In January, Lautner joined a who's who of A-Listers, including Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and event organizer George Clooney, to man the phone lines at the Hope for Haiti Now telethon. The event raised more than $57 million for earthquake relief.

When Kristen Stewart's Bella crashes her bike in New Moon, it's Lautner who revs his engine to come to her rescue. "Yes, I rode the dirt bike for a total of about five seconds in the film," he said, "but, for those five seconds, I had to look as cool as possible."

Kim Kardashian is a devoted Team Jacob fan, and so is Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, Lautner's costar in Valentine's Day. "This guy walks up to me and he goes 'Hey ... I'm a huge fan. Is there any way I can get a picture with you. I'm Jamie Foxx," Lautner recalls. "I was like, 'Are you kidding me? Can I get a picture with you?'"
