原文: Essentially,a theory is an abstract,symbolic representation of what is conceived to be reality. 實(shí)際上，所謂理論就是將深信為事實(shí)的某事物轉(zhuǎn)化而成的一種抽象、及象徵性的表達(dá)。 representation of ~ 是指~的表示，~的表現(xiàn)，~的代表 of後加的what is conceived to be reality 是名詞性的子句 解釋到底是如何的representation (參考:http://www.showxiu.com/fan_yi/representation_of/) what is conceived to be reality中 what當(dāng)主詞用 所以不需變換字序即可當(dāng)名詞子句使用 同樣疑問詞當(dāng)主詞用的例子為: what happened? / Who stole my wallet? what/ who 當(dāng)主詞用，就可直接當(dāng)名詞性的子句使用 如果不是當(dāng)主詞，就要變換字序: where do you live?/ what is his name? 這兩句的主詞為you/ his name 所以要轉(zhuǎn)成名詞子句使用時(shí)，要改為: where you live./ what his name is. 以上為個(gè)人理解 也有另一種解，可將「of~」看為一組形容詞 表示「~的」
