Failure teaches success. 失敗乃成功之母。

Failure：失敗

例如：What caused his failure? 什么使得他失敗了？

相關(guān)詞組：

A total failure 徹底的失敗

A power failure 電力故障

1、Nasty：極差的，令人厭惡的，令人不悅的（指特別講究清潔的人感到討厭的東西）

例句：They played a nasty trick. 他們玩弄卑劣的伎倆。

2、Set out：出發(fā)，動身，啟程

例句：They set out on the last stage of their journey. 他們動身踏上最后一段行程。

I had met Anna before, but her friend was a complete stranger to me. 我見過安娜，但是從未見過她那位朋友。

A complete stranger是指素不相識的人，相當于A Perfect stranger / A Total stranger的意思。

例如：I was stopped on the street by a perfect stranger who wanted to know my name.

Had met：過去完成式，在過去之前就已經(jīng)發(fā)生。（met是meet的過去式和過去分詞）

過去完成式的結(jié)構(gòu)： HAD+過去分詞。

例如：I met that person this morning, but I had never met him before. 我今天早上見過他（對現(xiàn)在來說是過去式）, 但是我以前從沒見過他（在今早見他之前）。

You realize your ideals through your labor and you guide your labor by ideals. 用勞動實現(xiàn)自己的理想，用理想指導自己的勞動。

1、Ideal：Conception or standard of perfection，指理想。

例如：To realize one's ideal 實現(xiàn)某人的理想

Idea : Conception in mind，是指主意滴意思。

例如：That's a good idea.

Realize：實現(xiàn)；將……變?yōu)楝F(xiàn)實

例如：We try to help all students realize their full potential(= be as successful as they are able to be). 我們努力幫助所有的學生充分發(fā)揮他們的潛力。

She cannot help being indulgent with little children. 她對小孩總是溺愛有加。

Cannot help doing something：忍不住要……，不禁……

Meaning : Not able to refrain from doing something; not able not to do 例句：I cannot help thinking he is wrong. 我不禁認為他錯了.

Indulgent：縱容的，放縱的

例句：They are indulgent with their children. 他們溺愛孩子們.

I had my first book accepted for publication last year. 那年，我的第一本書得以出版。

Accept：接受（認為合適或足夠好滴的，強調(diào)主動地或自愿地接受，經(jīng)過考慮后同意接受。）

例句：My article has been accepted for publication. 我的文章已被采用準備發(fā)表。

Publication （書刊等的）出版，發(fā)行；出版物

例如：They thought the book worth publication. 他們認為這書值得出版。

相關(guān)詞組：Electronic publication 電子出版，電子出版物

She was not senior enough to take such a decision. 她的資歷還太淺，不能做這類決定。

Senior：資格較老的，地位較高的

例子：My son has had his heart set on becoming a senior lawyer. 我的兒子一心想當個高級律師。

另外一個用法：She is eight years my senior. 她大我八歲。

Take這字，也可這么用：He took control, She took a positive attitude......etc.
