Dear ?David,

I came to see you but you were out. I'd like to discuss with you about your optional courses, as ?it is ?difficult for you to ?choose ?one from those four optional ?courses: ?Sinology, Traditional ?Chinese Painting, ?Peking ?Opera ?and ?Martial Arts.

In ?my opinion, you should select one according to your ?interest. ?If you want to obtain a general ?knowledge of Chinese ?language, ?literature and some other aspects, you ?may take Sinology course. ?If you are ?interested ?in ?painting, you ?may choose Traditional Chinese ?Painting. ?If you just like acting, Peking Opera is the best choice.

If you want to learn how to protect yourself you can learn ?Martial Arts. So it is up to you to decide.

Dear fellow students,

We all feel concerned when seeing leftovers piled in the bins of the canteen. To arouse our awareness of saving food, our school is to launch a campaign against food waste.

As for us students, please don't order food that we can't finish. Furthermore, let's remind each other to clear the plate all the time or pack leftovers home.?

Treasuring food is a Chinese traditional virtue. Remember, every grain comes after hard work. Let's save food and do it from now!

1.遵守交通規(guī)則,如走人行道/過(guò)斑馬線;

2.別在街道上或馬路上玩耍和踢球;

3.勸父母不能酒后駕車。

參考詞匯:sidewalk 人行道 zebra-crossing 斑馬線

With more and more cars coming into our families, we are happy that it has greatly improved our life. But unluckily, it has also brought many problems, such as heavy traffic and traffic accidents.

Traffic safety is everybody's business. We must obey the rules. For example, we must walk on sidewalks, when we cross zebra - crossing, stop and look right and left, and then go across fast. Don't play football on the road we can tell our parents not to drink before they drive, not to run through red lights, not to talk and laugh while driving etc.

We can say cars are coming into our life, but only when everybody thinks traffic safety is everybody's business can we be safe driving on roads and walking on sidewalks.

To start with, could you please tell me what I should mainly focus on when reading English works, vocabulary, grammar, culture, or something else? Besides, what's the correct order to deal with the different aspects? More importantly, I'm wondering whether you can recommend some good works which are suitable for us, senior 3 students.

I'd appreciate it if you could do me a favor. Best wishes!

Yours,

Li Hua
