Anne Hathaway, happily Ignores Criticism

Anne Hathaway’s dream came true at the 85th Academy Awards as she won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role as tragic factory worker Fantine in Les Miserables (《悲慘世界》). “I had a dream, and it came true, and it can happen, and it’s wonderful!” Hathaway cried when she accepted her Oscar. After her win, she felt she was “on top of the world.”

It was the first Oscar win for the 30-year-old performer, who was previously nominated (提名) in the best actress category in 2008.

However, although Anne Hathaway won the approval of the Academy on Oscar night, the so-called “Hathahaters”(厭惡海瑟薇的人) are still criticizing her. The Oscars this year, far from an opportunity for Hathaway to overcome her deficit (缺陷) with that audience, just gave “Hathahaters” more chances to criticize her, from her apparently revealing (暴露的) dress to her awed (畏怯的) acceptance speech.
盡管安妮·海瑟薇在這個(gè)奧斯卡之夜獲得了肯定，但是那些厭惡海瑟薇的人們?nèi)耘f批評(píng)者她。今年的奧斯卡獎(jiǎng)不僅給海瑟薇一個(gè)機(jī)會(huì)來克服她與觀眾存在的缺陷，也給了討厭海瑟薇的人更多機(jī)會(huì)去批評(píng)她明顯的暴露的裙子和畏怯的提名演講。

After facing some strong negative response over other emotional acceptance speeches, Hathaway admitted that her feelings were hurt by criticism. But she still worked very hard on preparing her thank-you for the Oscars.

Hathaway said, “It does get to me. But you have to remember in life that there’s a positive to every negative and a negative to every positive.”

She tried to win over the haters in her Oscar speech but expressed that even with all of the criticism, “I live my life with love. I live my life with compassion (憐憫). I live my life hoping the best for absolutely everyone, no matter how they feel about me. And when you live that way, it’s amazing how beautiful every day can be.”

After experiencing all that happiness or hardship in her lifetime, Anne Hathaway is no longer the little princess in Princess Diaries (《公主日記》). She has grown up to be a great actress without being hurt one bit by occasional missteps or criticism.
