Little Nutbrown Hare,who was going to bed,held on tight to Big Nutbrown Hare's very long ears.
He wanted to be sure that Big Nutbrown Hare was listening."Guess how much I love you,"he said.
"Oh,I don't think I could guess that,"said Big Nutbrown Hare.
"This much,"said Little Nutbrown Hare,stretching out his arms as wide as they could go.
Big Nutbrown Hare had even longer arms."But I love you this much,"he said.
Hmm,that is a lot,thought Little Nutbrown Hare.

栗色的小兔子想要去睡覺了，它緊緊地抓住栗色的大兔子的長耳朵，它要栗色的大兔子好好地聽。它說：“猜猜我有多愛你？”“噢，我大概猜不出來?！崩跎拇笸米诱f?！坝羞@么多?！彼扉_雙臂，拼命往兩邊張。栗色的大兔子的手臂更長，它說：“可是，我愛你有這么多。”嗯，是很多，栗色的小兔子想。

小編注：猜猜我有多愛你，不妨大家來比比。這本書可以學(xué)到很多比較級句型，比如這里的as wide as,even longer。親子閱讀的時候，試著和孩子來比比能找到哪些比較句型吧！

"I love you as high as I can reach,"said Little Nutbrown Hare.
"I love you as high as I can reach,"said Big Nutbrown Hare.
That is quite high,thought Little Nutbrown Hare.I wish I had arms like that.

“我愛你，有我夠到的那么高?！?栗色的小兔子舉起胳膊說?！拔覑勰?，也有我夠到的那么高?！贝笸米右才e起胳膊說。這太高了，栗色的小兔子想，我真希望我也有那樣的胳膊。

Then Little Nutbrown Hare had a good idea.He tumbled upside down and reached up the tree trunk with his feet.
"I love you all the way up to my toes!"he said.
"And I love you all the way up to your toes,"said Big Nutbrown Hare,swinging him up over his head.

然后，栗色的小兔子又有了一個好主意，它朝下倒立，把腳往樹干上伸。它說：“我愛你，一直到我的腳趾夠到的地方?！薄拔覑勰?，一直到你的腳趾夠到的地方。”栗色的大兔子說，它把栗色的小兔子高高地拋到了它的頭頂上。

小編注：tumble upside down倒立，upside down是介詞，顛倒、混亂的意思。

"I love you as high as I can hop!"laughed Little Nutbrown Hare,bouncing up and down.
"But I love you as high as I can hop,"smiled Big Nutbrown Hare-and he hopped so high that his ears touched the branches above.That's good hopping thought Little Nutbrown Hare.I wish I could hop like that.

“我愛你，有我跳得那么高?！崩跎男⊥米庸笮?，它跳上又跳下。“可是我愛你，也有我跳得那么高?！崩跎拇笸米游⑽⒌匦χ?，它跳得那么高，耳朵都碰到樹枝上面了。跳得太高了，栗色的小兔子想，我真希望我也能跳那樣高。

小編注：bounce指彈跳，來回反復(fù)跳，比如這里的up and down。此外jump、leap、spring、hop、bound、skip這些動詞均有“跳，跳躍”之意。
jump是普通用詞，指用雙腳向上跳，向下跳，或在同一平面上跳到有一定距離的某一點(diǎn)上，或跳過。
leap常可與jump換用，但側(cè)重身體猛力向上升起并朝前急沖的動作，有時含突然的意味。
spring更強(qiáng)調(diào)有力和彈跳的運(yùn)動。
hop指單腳短跳或雙足猛力的動作。也指小鳥、青蛙等的跳。
bound多指向前向上或向下跳躍、奔跳。
skip指兩腳交替輕地跳或跨的動作。

"I love you all the way down the lane as far as the river,"cried Little Nutbrown Hare."I love you across the river and over the hills,"said Big Nutbrown Hare.
That's very far,thought Little Nutbrown Hare.He was almost too sleepy to think any more.Then he looked beyond the thornbushes,out into the big dark night.Nothing could be further than the sky.
"I love you right up to the moon,"he said,and closed his eyes."Oh,that's far,"said Big Nutbrown Hare."That is very,very far."

栗色的小兔子大叫：“我愛你，從這條小路一伸到河那邊?！薄拔覑勰悖^了那條河，再翻過那座山?！?栗色的大兔子說。這實在太遠(yuǎn)了，栗色的小兔子想。它太困了，實在想不出什么來了。于是，它抬頭朝高高的灌木叢上望去，一直望到一大片黑夜。沒有什么東西能比天空更遠(yuǎn)了?！拔覑勰?，一直到月亮那么高?！彼f，然后閉上了眼睛。“噢，這真遠(yuǎn)，” 栗色的大兔子說，“這非常遠(yuǎn)、非常遠(yuǎn)?！?/div>
Big Nutbrown Hare settled Little Nutbrown Hare into his bed of leaves.He leaned over and kissed him good night.
Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile,"I love you right up to the moon-and back."

栗色的大兔子把栗色的小兔子輕輕地放到了樹葉鋪成的床上，低下頭來，親親它，祝它晚安。然后，它躺在小兔子的身邊，小聲地微笑著說：“我愛你，到月亮那么高，再——繞回來?！?/div>
