calculate, count, compute, reckon

這些動詞均含有“計算”之意。

calculate : 通常指要求細致精確和復雜的計算，以解決疑難問題，多用于自然科學、生產(chǎn)部門或要求專門計算的場合。

例如：I calculated that the trip would take two days.（我估計這段路程要走兩天時間。）

count : 指逐一計算而得出總數(shù)。

例如：Let's count the people who are present.（咱們把到的人數(shù)點一下。）

compute : 一般指已有數(shù)據(jù)的，較簡單但數(shù)字長的數(shù)學運算。

例如：He computed that the project would take seven years to complete.（他估計這項計劃要花七年才能完成。）

reckon : 通常指較簡單的數(shù)學計算，也可指心算。

例如：Our pay is reckoned from the 1st of the month.（我們的薪水從每月的第一天算起。）
