call, summon, send for

這些動詞或詞組均含有“召集，召喚”之意。

call : 非正式用詞，含義廣泛，指用說話或呼叫的形式召喚。

例如：The sirens are calling the men to assemble.（警報聲在召令士兵集合。）

summon : 正式用詞，指官方或正式的召集，召集者具有權(quán)力或權(quán)威性。

例如：He was summoned as a witness by the court.（她被法庭傳喚作證）

send for : 作“召喚”解時，語氣較隨便，暗示委派一件工作。

例如：Leave this house now, or I will send for the police.（現(xiàn)在就離開這房子, 否則我叫警察了。）
