這些協(xié)詞的共同含義是“減少，變少”。

decrease : 指逐漸地、不斷地減少。

The traffic accidents in the city decreased last year.（該城市去年交通事故減少了。）

diminish : 側(cè)重大小數(shù)量和重要性的不斷減小，強(qiáng)調(diào)減小的部分。
